Missouri S&T launched a new university research center named the S&T Center for Intelligent Infrastructure (S&T-CII or just CII). The CII has initial expertise in civil engineering, computer science, economics, electrical engineering, and engineering management and systems engineering. As an independent, university-funded department under the Office of Sponsored Program, this university center will provide long-term, sustained support and services to externally-funded projects and centers related to intelligent infrastructure. Example external centers include the 2016-awarded INSPIRE University Transportation Center (INSPIREUTC, $1.4M/year for 5 years) and the S&T portion of the 2016-awarded Mid-America Transportation Center (MATC, $2.6M/year for 5 years). To celebrate this milestone achievement for S&T research enterprise, a ceremonial event with governmental representatives, international guests, campus leaders, center directors, faculty and students was organized on August 8, 2019.
Diane Murph, graduate student in civil engineering being advised by Dr. Jenny Liu, has been announced to speak at the Missouri S&T Commencement Ceremonies Saturday, December 14th, 2019.
