Weibing Gong is an Assistant Professor of Geological Engineering in the Department of Geosciences and Geological and Petroleum Engineering at Missouri University of Science and Technology. He obtained his Ph.D. in Geosystems Engineering from UC Berkeley in 2023. Prior to that, he earned a Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering from Tongji University in 2018, and a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Central South University in 2015. Dr. Gong's research interests include climate change-related and seismic hazards, enhancing infrastructure resilience against natural hazards, applications of remote sensing and AI in geotechnical(geological) engineering, as well as carbon detection and capture.
