Dr. Mahelet Fikru is currently an associate professor in the Department of Economics. She joined Missouri S&T in 2011 as an assistant professor of economics and was promoted to associate professor in 2017.

She is a member of the Association of Environmental and Resource Economists (AERE) and the US Association for Energy Economics (USAEE), and serves as an associate editor for Energy Reports.

Research Interests:

energy transition, energy efficiency, technology adoption, energy policies, rate design, mineral resources, Toxic Release Inventory, ESG, mining, environmental policies, merger incentives, merger control policies, market structures
